Cold Weather Payments Options

hi folks, i looked into this cold weather payment you have to be on pension credit, or have highest rate of dla i am over sixty but still dont get it, as was turned down for dla but i am apealing , to get pansion credit you have to have less than £130 a week i think, i dont get full state pension as i dont have enogh stamps, i was widowed when children were small and didnt go to work till they were grown, so lose out on full amount. sylvia

I'm on highest rate of DLA and not entitled to it....

I also saw the guy on BBC breakfast who said that you could get it on DLA but having looked into it further the criteria is you need to be on an income related benefit... i.e income support etc

If you are just on a benefit like DLA or incapacity then you are not entitled to it... The disability premium is an additional amount added onto income support or job seekers allowance

Why do they make these things so complicated?? Anyone would think they deliberately make it hard so people don't claim the money Huh

Joanne - would I be entitled to any payment I receive DLV and am 60. I have just tried the web site and put in my Post Code all it said was that there have been 4 cold spells in my area since November 09. Any idea what I need to do ? sorry to sound such a numpty.
